Friends make our life lovely and more beautiful to live happily. Friendship is one of the purest things in a person’s life. The journey of life becomes beautiful when our good friends surround us. We all belong to a family, where we have some members like our parents, siblings, grandparents, cousins, etc. in a family we get immense love, affection, attention, care, and guidance to work properly and lead a successful life happily. Three basic Needs:
1. A Sense of Belonging – Ask your child about how do they feel with their friends they are happy or stressed about what their friends will think about them? Or are they at peace when they’re hanging out with a friend?”
2. A Sense of Worth – You can ask, your child that what they feel with friends. A friend will always value his or her friend .“ In other words, you can ask “Do your friends make you feel like you’re a value for them? Or do you have to constantly guess whether they think about you or not?”
3. A Sense of Competence – You can ask, “Do your friends encourage you for your good things, or do they constantly criticize you ?” you can ask your child that do they appreciate you or always make you feel down? A friend plays an important role in build-up self-esteem or feeling depressed so it is the parents’ responsibility to take care of everything related to your child. These three areas help a child can find out their identity and will form a base for their identity and character. As a parent, you can help them by asking, what do you see in this friend or these friends? What do you love most about them and about being with them? It is important to understand for the parents that what kind of friends they are having and How are they contributors or builders in your child’s life.
